This is a new concept of cascaded motion system, motion base or motion platform, that comes this kind of product affordable for all pilot entusiasts with no excessive expenses. BIG ADVANTAGE campared with 6 DOF Stewart hexapod platform or 3 DOF cams platform is that maximum DOF strokes are not affected by others DOF. Seems that our system perform ALL STROKES in the same time, i.e. 25° roll + 20° Pitch + 150 mm Heave. Other systems cannot move pitch and heave when roll is at max stroke. The first concept is MODULARITY . Eachone can decide how many money to spend and how many Degree of Freedom will be installed as first step. They dont loose the possibility to increase DOF by DOF their initial setup. It is possible to start with 2 DOF, Pitch and Roll, and to add some months later i.e. Heave or Yaw or both and then to add other DOF. The second concept is the COST . For this purpose the design was as simple as possible without loosing strenght and performances. We designed our own actuators ( brushless motor ), hardware and software that are normally the most important cost components. The third concept is HOME compatibility: weight, size, electric power, noise and WIFE AGREEMENT. Final concept is KIT supply system. With simple tools it's very easy to dress up and assemble all preassembled components making easy and costly also the shipment. To combine all these properties was a very hard goal, but finally is there. SUPPORTED GAMES are MS FlightSimulator 2004 (Registered Fsuipc required), MS FSX , Laminar X Plane and more on request. Also suitable for other Car games as RFactor, or Train and Ship simulators. SOFTWARE PACKAGE is composed by 3 indipendent modules, Read values from game (Fsuipc or others data read software), Elaborating values for output (cueing and washout), Converting data for motor controllers inputs. This software structure assure flexibility over any kind of games.
PROFESSIONAL CUE AND WASHOUT PROGRAMMING ALGORYTMS are provided in elaborating module, so the flight feeling is very good and real. Very few manufacturers provide this software features and normally motion is only a clone of aircraft motion or yoke position, not a real simulation. SO, BE CAREFULLY What is Cue and Washout? Visual Cue systems, ( monitors, projectors, screen ) need to be integrated with motion. A large fixed screen in front of motion system will be unreal! Surge and Sway effect can be partially simulated on 2, 3 or 4 DOF motion systems with low freedom reduction in others DOF. Also wheels rumble can be simulated with high frequency vibrations. Connection to the computer is trought USB and 8 axis interface board, to support others DOF and G Seat feature that will be implemented soon. As option can be supplied Seat and Cockpit support to fix panel with real instruments. On board can be installed GA real cockpit ( Cessna C 172-182 from Simkits, or VRInsight, or XTOP , Piper PA28, Beach etc.) or Boeing 737 left, central and overhead panels from Flightdecksolution . Cockpit enclosure made by aluminium honeycomb panels can be supplied as well, supporting from 1 to 3 19" LCD monitors conected to PC trought Matrox Triplehead or Wideview
